What are the Pomeranian Mixes?

Do you keep asking yourself “what are the Pomeranian mixes?” You’re in the right place.  Keep reading to learn more on this interesting topic.

Pomeranian mixes are when you cross a purebred Pomeranian with another purebred dog.  The outcome of this is widely called a ‘designer’ dog or ‘hybrid’.

The difference between ‘designer dogs’ and ‘mongrels’

Before you continue to learn what are the Pomeranian mixes, you need to learn what the difference is between a ‘designer’ dog and ‘mongrel’.  The difference is that a ‘designer’ dog is the product of two purebred dogs, whereas a mongrel is the product of many different breeds of dog.  For example, if you crossed a Poodle with a Pomeranian the puppies would be 50% Pomeranian and 50% Poodle – this is a ‘designer’ dog. However, if one of these resulting ‘designer’ dogs were then breed with another Poodle, the resulting puppies would be 75% Poodle and 25% Pomeranian and would be classed as  ‘mongrels’.  Therefore it’s really important that if you want to create a ‘designer’ Pomeranian mix that you make sure both the Pomeranian and other dog are purebreds.
